[TRY] Server Map Cycle

The maps I did put on the server are NOT in the map cycle.
You cannot vote for them either cause they are not in the voting list.

You need an admin online to change the map for you.

For rcon admins, here are again the commands to list the maps.
/rcon dir maps bsp

then to change the map, you can do
/rcon map ut4_mapname

Now I took the time to go thru ALL the maps I had on my computer (man I play that game too much I think...) I cared only about bomb mode enabled maps.
Here are some other maps I plan to had soon
ut4_guerilla
ut4_midnigth (love this one in CTF, it should be fun in bomb mode too)
ut4_nam (love this map. You can feel the Vietnam)
ut4_pandora_b7 (ok map)
ut4_presidio_b28 (nice map, maybe too big ?)
ut4_railed (perfect map for bomb mode, played it a couple of times on another server)
ut4_slumwar (I just played it, but I don't remember ?)
ut4_smalltown_b6 (dunno what to say)
ut4_terrorism7 (nice map probably similar to guerilla)
ut4_train_dl1 (a map that is played 24/7 on a bomb mode SR8-pistol only server)
ut4_turbinehallb2 (giant map, but very opened, can be fun to play sometimes when we are bored.)
ut4_turnpike_extended (FPS bitch, but damn I will love to play this DESTRUCTIBLE TURNPIKE MAP... yeah you can nade everything in the map...)
ut4_twins_beta3 (Just played it, and already forgot what it looks like...)

I think we should update the list of the maps present on the server...

...but i'm too lazy to do it XD

It's sad if we even can't vote, b/c except you, nobody will type /rcon map ut4_mapname for playing on those maps, we are to lazy for type /rcon map ut4_mapname for playing on map we don't know!

I think that I will put them in the mapcycle.txt, BUT I will be listening to you guys and remove them as soon as there is too many complaints about a particular map.

When the maps are in the cycle, you just have to cycle them to play them.

For the votes, I don't think I can add them to the voting list.

Here are the steps

1. Set the rcon password in the client

/rconpassword blablabla

2. tell the client where to send the remote server command

/set rconaddress gs.try-clan.com

3. send the reload command

/rcon exec server.cfg

The one I found is the second one...

I don't know what it does for others, but for me, when i upload a map to the server, my ping drops to 600-800

Harbortown.

Apparently, some have problems downloading this map.

If I understand correctly, it is a map in the 4.1.1 update. So it is "embedded" in the update, so it cannot be downloaded from internet but have to be installed from 4.1.1

Harbortown is a rare case, we hardly ever play that map. And when we do, it's Moltisanti that wanted to play it and everyone else DCs XD

I was playing on CTF server and discovered a lot of new maps.

If someone want add news maps go here and here. There is a map called the ripper, pretty nice.

Oh one last thing, idk if every maps can be playing in bomb mode.
You have maps named jump...... so it's pretty clear, but for the others, i ask to a krh member, and he dk .....

There is a repository of maps (the one configured in our server) hte map list is very very exhaustive.

As for adding maps, I don't think we are limited in terms of size on the server, so we can add maps as we want.

On the other hand, with my last experiment I found out that most of the people are very very affraid of change.

They need the security of a boring map because they know exactly where to go to kill AFKs and noobies before getting killed.
Playing on a new map makes more apparent their deficient strategies and innexistant game sense.
Thats why they whine like a little girl learning about the death of Justin Beiber when a new map appears.

I'll add the maps, but we will most probably be the only two playing on it. And we'll have to "/rcon veto" all the map changing votes if someone else comes to play...

ok some people for an uknow reason cant play some maps on our server so i put this link. Now everybody can dwl the maps, they are in alphabetic order, saved the map in your c/programfiles/q3ut4 files, follow the instructions on my link for rename the maps and you can play.

NO NEED TO DWL EVERY MAP FROM MY LINK, just the maps what you need to play on try or another server!


And harbortown still doesn't work for some players.
